Yes, I haven’t posted in a while- that’s because I’ve been busy. How do you know I’m not completely dead? Look at my Twitter feed, it’s pretty active. It’s also a great and quick way to contact me.

Dear Blog,

Shaibani or Shaibanii? It’s Shaibani :-) Shaibanii was just an attempt to make the name look cool, but obviously, FAIL!

Short post, but clears things up. :-D

BTW: I made a few changes in the CSS, so if the site looks messed up; Ctrl+F5 to see the changes.

Dear Blog,

How’s your 2009 so far? (Yeah, you; since the blog can’t respond.) Ah, good? Nice to hear. Bad, you say? Hope it gets better. It’s okay? Good to hear. My 2009 so far hasn’t been bad actually (Web-wise). WordPress themes are made much faster now, I can practically spit one out in a few minutes. It use to take me more than that back in 2008. I’ve also been experimenting with PHP a lot using XAMPP. Learned a bunch of things. Also, I think my computer’s resolution was to be nice to me this year. :-D

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this earlier, but I’ve recently started saving codes as Snippets in Dreamweaver. Those codes include, the WordPress loop, a bunch of includes, and little bits of code that my mind refuses to memorize. I wonder what will become of those snippets when HTML 5 is released.

I installed XAMPP in early December 08 and have been experimenting with it ever since. XAMPP is basicly an all-in-one installer for PHP, MySQL, and PERL. Found out a bunch of things while playing around with it to be honest. It’s a good playground for testing. There’s a version for Windows, Mac, Linux and Solaris.

My Computer, which I plan to name soon, has been more responsive nowadays. :-D Bigger (not really), better, faster, stronger!

As for my personal life, I’d prefer to reflect on this elsewhere. ;)

Dear Blog,

It’s almost 11pm here in Kuwait. I’m no where near sleepy, so far this is the worst vacation I’ve had so far. Here’s how my day went. (Starting from the Kuwait-ness)

8:00AM
Came back from Eid prayer, I said to myself I’ll just sleep for 5 minutes then start my day. I woke up at 11AM.

11AM – 1PM
Ran around getting ready, packing stuff, saying goodbye to friends; usual stuff before a vacation. If you’d like to call my going away-ness that. Off to the airport.

2PM – 3PM
The airport’s system crashed so we had to wait at the check in. How boring. Boarded the plane it took off.. Goodbye Abu Dhabi.

3PM – 3PM (+4 GMT – +3 GMT)

Yo-ness from 32,000 ft. above the ground!

Yo-ness from 32,000 ft. above the ground!

The Flight… wasn’t bad, listened to System of a Down the whole time! Oh and by the way…

Call this food?...

Call this food?...

Arrival At The Airport (Lost track of time) + The rest of the day
Arrived at the airport, wasn’t as crowded as I expected, and the first thing I saw after the passport-ness.. STARBUCKS!!!! Hotel, got settled you know the drill. Went to “Marina Mall” (We’ve got one of those back home BTW!), had Indian food for dinner. This Marina Mall, it’s full of Emos! Unbelievable. They stink. :-|

Trying to keep this as simple as possible, this trip sucks.. so far.

Rap, Kids, Movies, and More Dear Blog, Freedom of Speech

Dear Blog,

Today, as I was shopping (Yes, I do shop — I’m forced to.) for my “vacation” to Kuwait (It’s cold there.), I came across a toys store. In that toy store, there was this kid (Congrats, you’re famous! :-D ) with his mom, playing with a toy. He pressed the button on the toy, and 50 Cent’s In Da Club song started playing. Holy f**k!

Rap, kids, under 5 years old. And there are ratings and restrictions for games, movies, almost every other thing. It drives me crazy! A kid, a boy, a little kid, it’s not even funny — it’s a kid, is allowed to have a toy that at the press of a button plays a verse that contains And you know we don’t give a fuck.

I get asked to show my ID every time I buy a movie ticket (with the exception of Madagascar 2 and G-rated movies, which by the way, is awesome!!), why? To make sure I’m not underage. Obviously. What about the people who aren’t? To make sure the producers don’t get sued for being a bad influence? There are other ways, and nowadays they’re found in a store that only mothers and children enter! (and employees..) Wow.

How awesome? (Sarcasm)
