Just incase you have no idea what a “fantastico” is. Fantastico is this thing that usually comes with cPanel. It installs scripts for you such as WordPress,
No, I haven’t lost it. In fact Fantastico S-U-C-K-S! Why? It robs you of experience! You don’t get better at doing things yourself if you fill out a form, go to sleep and then wake up. It doesn’t work that way. Even if you’d like it to. Another reason, if you just move one little thing, everything could go BOOM so to speak.
I learned this the hard way, when I was working on Big-Show.NET after I moved to WordPress (which requires a MySQL database). All my WordPress files were under /wp. I decided to move it to the root which is /. After moving it, whenever I uploaded a file (a picture or anything) it would go under /wp/wp-content/uploads/*month*/*year*. So I decided I’d remove the installation from Fantastico, and then install it manually with the same database. Fantastico removed the database as well.
Wow, that sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Like I said — I learned the hard way.
Also, Fantastico phpBB installations have been umm.. acting weird, same with SMF. Everything didn’t work! Coppermine Fantastico installations, XP Publish doesn’t work.
Fantastico is shit!!!!!!!!
Joomla installations, can’t login to the admin panel.
Solution? Install things yourself!
Say no to Fantastico! (it rhymes)
