So Apple announced its new tablet coined as the “iPad.” As usual Steve Jobs gets on stage with the same sweater and jeans, talks then demos the thing then the other guy comes up and so on. So I decided I’ll post some thoughts of mine after all the hype wears off a bit.

By the way, I’m not buying this thing but if you wanna send me one for free my hands are open

On to the thoughts..

I really dislike the name. Apple, you had choices and you picked the worst one! You had iStale, iTablet, iBook, but you picked iPad?! When you’re skimming through headlines, you can easily mistake it for ‘iPod’. Oh and what of the period jokes! They’ll just never end.

Why would I want to use this thing anyway? Steve Jobs said its between the smartphone and the laptop, I just see it as an iPhone with a different interface. I just can’t stress this enough! The iPhone can do everything it does plus take pictures and videos. So can laptops, and they’re just as portable. On the other hand, it can act as a backup. Now I’m not the kind of guy that moves around a lot but if you are, you might actually benefit from its 10hr battery life. I’m not saying the thing sucks, I just don’t see where it fits.

Hold on.. What made the iPhone so ‘WOW!’? The touchscreen, it was something no one had ever seen before. The scrolling, the pinching, the accelormeter, the large screen etc. Why didn’t Apple do something different with the iPad? Why is it running iPhone OS? Why not OS X if it’s ‘like a laptop’? Or even better, why not its own OS? Something like Microsoft’s Surface PC would’ve been cool. Just think about it, playing around with stuff like that; it would’ve been a whole new experience! People would’ve gone crazy because of all the hype, and Apple wins again. Should’ve been, could’ve been, would’ve been, but wasn’t.

Oh and why the with or without 3G option? This is just like the 4GB iPhone, it’s going to be discontinued.

Flash on the iPad is a biggie. Why no Flash? You want the ‘best browsing experience’? You gotta have flash. Save it Steve, a computer browser holds that spot. End of story.

• Gray market iPhone or operator iPhone?

  Gray market iPhone pros:

  1. I get to keep my number.
  2. Jailbreak! (More features)

  Cons:

  1. No Internet Access.

  Operator iPhone Pros:

  1. Internet Access
  2. Warranty (I definitely think I’m gonna need that)

  Cons:

  1. I have to get a new phone number.
  2. No jailbreaking.

  Which I should choose?

• Wow. TwitterFox really helps you stay Twitter-ified.
• Google Chrome is fast. Might consider switching; permanently.
• Been having a shortage in Randomness Juice lately.
• Windows Live Messenger 2009 = Total awesomeness.
• Almost finished Metal Gear Solid 4, for the 9th time.
• Guitar Hero: Metallica seems good. For now.
• I’m starting to dislike phpBB.
• I keep forgetting to post asides.

Even more.. this mind of mine is a endless supply of them!

• Oreos are awesome!
• Chestnuts are awesome.
• Together.. they’re not so awesome.
• I need more free time.
• iPod Nano — not so bad.
• Blah.
• That’s all folks!

• PHP is powerful.
• I wish FTPing with other servers is as fast as FTPing 127.0.0.1 (localhost).
• My Computer Fan suddenly started working.
• My Categories are unorganized!
• I gotta blog about XAMPP.
• There’s a blue version of WordPress 2.7
• I need to play Microsoft Flight Simulator.
• Dreamweaver CS4 doesn’t work anymore.
• Empty Walls has one of the best music videos I’ve ever seen.
• Youtube doesn’t work for me anymore
• I wonder when 2.7.1’s coming out.
• Speaking of 2.7.1, a theme installer / file uploader should be added!

Enough for now…

- Live performances versions of songs are usually better than the studio version. (IMO)

- Snap569 is back.

- Upgraded to 2.7 on Big-Show.NET.

- Facebook was almost blocked here.

- Getting dental braces removed isn’t as awesome as it seems.

- I forgot about this blog. Sorry for the lack of updates.

- Thinking about starting a ‘Dear Blog,’ thing.

- LOL sucks, LOI ownz. I’m still using ‘lol’, lol

- I need to build my own CMS!

- Joomla is awesome; WordPress is better though (IMO).

- John Cena is back!

- Big Show lost to Undertaker; not surprised.

- I’m using my computer with no fan.

- I smell smoke

- I suck at Photoshop.

- Never bully geeks, you might end up working for them later on in life..

Random thoughts are mental drafts of posts (just the topics) that I was gonna publish on here.

- My phone doesn’t support WordPress publishing, but it supports Blogger. Doesn’t have WLAN, not bothered.

- Windows Media Player totally sucks! iTunes pwnz.

- Firefox uses more system resources than Google Chrome.

- Facebook is boring.

- BlogRush shut down.

- MySpace is pointless.

- Rice is overpriced.

- Older versions of FileZilla are better than the newer ones.

- Obama wins! Obama wins! Obama wins! I’m not American.

- No one can live without IM.

- Ubuntu 8.10 was released on Oct 30. Upgraded on Halloween.

- TBN is now in a different color, however the toolbar has 2 color options.

- Gatorade is 95% water.
