I suppose you never thought to backup your database before fantastico deleted it eh…. yeah, it’s fantastico’s fault…..

For comment #1 – Try using current software. Considering that technology moves faster and faster every year, to even say you used something “a few years ago” is an embarassment.

2. You’re not surprised because you’re a dumbass and don’t know anything about administration. Just like the administrators of wherever you used fantastico before. If used and updated properly on a properly secured server with proper permissions set on the directories via cpanel or console, you would have no problems. Stop blaming other people and admit you suck at securing and administering your shit.

Ha! Why am I not surprised? It totally sucks and I think its just another thing that hosts advertise just for fun. Plus, security-wise, it's dangerous. Upgrades are offered 1-2 weeks after they're released. Sometimes the upgrades with one crucial security fix are ignored and never ported to Fantastico.

I'm surprised you got anything to work. When I tried it a few years ago about one out of every five different applications would actually install. None of the wants I actually wanted of course.

If it's free… you can be certain it's because someone is dumping thier mess on you to clean up. Instant gratification = nothing…
